John J. Martin, Jr. (Jack), 88, of Roeland Park, KS, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021. Visitation will be 9:30 AM, Rosary at 10:00 AM, and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM Wednesday, September 1, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 5250 Mission Road, Roeland Park, KS. Burial in Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS. Please follow Covid-19 protocol.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sisters Servants of Mary, or St. Luke's Hospice. Jack was born August 10, 1933, in Kansas City, MO to John, Sr., and Teresa (Ryan) Martin. He graduated from Rockhurst High School and received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Rockhurst University. He served his country in the United States Army. Jack was a CPA and Partner at Troupe, Kehoe, Whitaker, and Kent (TKWK) for 44 years retiring in 2000 and then enjoyed his retirement working for Higdon and Hale CPAs. Jack was a long-time member of St. Agnes Catholic Parish, Milburn Golf & Country Club, and a past season ticket holder with the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. He held professional memberships with Alpha Sigma Nu-Jesuit Honor Society, American Institute of CPAs, and the Kansas and Missouri Societies of CPAs. Jack was preceded in death by his daughter Ann Martin Chick. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary F. Martin; children: Michael (Connie) Martin, John Martin, Carol (Pat) Tracy, Janet (Brian) Gump, Paul Martin, Brian Martin (Cheryl); grandchildren: Kristen (Joe) Kinney, Erin Martin, Joseph Martin, Quinn Tracy, Evan Gump, Mia Martin; great-grandchildren Liam Martin and Clare Kinney; sister Mary Lou Blomster; and a large extended family and close circle of friends and colleagues.
