May 08, 1963---Aug 26, 2026

Coleen Michelle Moore, 63, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on August 26, 2026.

A KU graduate in Occupational Therapy. She worked for 20 years for the Great Bend school district.

A devoted occupational therapist, Coleen spent her career working to serve others, helping them regain independence and improve their quality of life. She lived and worked in Great Bend for most of her adult life, where she was known for her compassion, quiet strength, and steadfast dedication to those in her care.

Coleen took great pride in her family and loved sharing stories with those around her. A natural jokester, she brought laughter to many moments. She also delighted in collecting teapots a simple pleasure that reflected her warm and welcoming spirit. Her beloved cats, who shared her home for much of her adult life, were a constant source of companionship and joy; they now wait for her in heaven.

A devout Catholic, Coleen’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She found comfort and purpose in her beliefs and lived them with sincerity and grace.

She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, friend, and coworker. Coleen is survived by her daughter, Kaitlyn, who was the light of her life, along with many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her brothers George, Brian, Raymond, and James Lee; her sister Carolyn; and other family members.

A visitation will be 4:00 - 6:00 pm on Monday, August 31st at the Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa, KS.  Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 7023 W. 71st Street, Overland Park, KS.

Coleen will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her professional care for others, her deep faith, her sense of humor, and the quiet happiness she found in family, tea parties, and the company of her beloved cats.

May her soul rest with our Savior.

The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed and can be viewed by going to the Church's website. https://www.queenoftheholyrosary.org/

Friend and coworker ,Great bend ,Kansas

I am so sad to hear this. I worked with Coleen for 20 years. She always was a good advocate for her students. We had a group of women that worked well together. Coleen always made us laugh at her corny and witty humor. We had lots of fun together. She was also always ready to pray for anyone that needed it. She will be missed. Rest in peace sweet friend.

Former Coworker from great Bend ,Great band ,Kansas

Coleen was a caring, wonderful friend and always such a jokester. She was my coworker, and even after she moved away, she continued to keep in touch with me by texting for many years. Coleen was a true prayer warrior and a strong Christian. I know she is now in heaven, and while I will miss her dearly, I am happy knowing that she is no longer suffering from all of her health issues. I was always amazed by the way, she faced those challenges. She took everything in stride and never allowed her health struggles to bring her down. Her strength, faith, and positive spirit were truly an inspiration to me. She will be greatly missed.

Friend

Coleen was such a sweet friend! She was always kind, caring and compassionate! I know she blessed many children and families with the work she did as an OT through the years. I know she isn’t suffering anymore and is now rejoicing with her Lord and Savior!

long life friend ,Richmond ,Missouri

My close friendship with Coleen began 42 years ago when she taught me the ropes at Marillac Center and we supported one another all the years since, through thick and thin, trials and tribulations of life. It is that kinship and friendship that stands through distance and time, reconnecting like time never elapsed between conversations. We shared our Faith in God and it is so nice to have a close friendship with a Christian whose values are in sync. I miss you Coleen and love you dearly! Heaven is alive with your smile!
