Benjamin Samuel Speidel was born on July 3, 2006, in Watford, England. He passed away on August 15, 2026 at the age of 20. He is survived by his mother and father, Maria and Pete Speidel, his sisters, Sierra and Emma, and his brother, Noah.

Benjamin was homeschooled and attended Legacy Christian Academy in Lenexa and graduated from the Classical Conversations homeschool program in Shawnee in 2025. Benjamin had a strong desire to follow God and His plans. This desire to follow God led Ben to attend the Fusion mission program at Midwest Baptist Theological Seminary. This program was equipping him to do the things he loved: study the Bible, help as many people as he could and share the love of Jesus with others.

On Saturday evening, while on a training hike with his program, Ben suffered a cardiac arrest and went to be with the Lord. While words cannot express how much we miss him, as a family, we are grateful that he was doing what he always did: thoughtfully following Jesus day by day.
