Jan 03, 1977---Jul 13, 2026

Steven Alan Kostus was born in Kansas City, Missouri on January 3rd, 1977, and passed away on July 13, 2026.  He was preceded in death by his father, Alan Kostus.

He will always be remembered and loved by his surviving mother, Marcia Kostus, brother Andrew Kostus, sister-in-law Ashley Kostus, his nephew Ayden Kostus and nieces Fallyn and Reghan Kostus. Along with family, he will hold a special place in the heart of his friends and co-workers.

Growing up, Steven attended Maranatha Academy, and after graduation, attended Texas Christian University. After graduating from Texas Christian University, Steven moved back to Kansas City to start his career in the insurance business. He worked with a few different companies, focusing on the accounting and reinsurance aspect of the business. When he was not working, he thoroughly enjoyed watching and attending sporting events, especially the Kansas City Chiefs. He was a season ticket holder for the Kansas City Chiefs for over 20 years, which always brought him great joy to watch the games and be a part of the tailgate group. One of his favorite memories was watching the Chiefs win the Super Bowl.

Steven will be greatly missed by everyone, but we find comfort knowing that he is in heaven with his dad, watching over the family.

The visitation will be held at Lenexa Baptist Church on July 24th, from 10-11 am. The visitation will be followed by a memorial service beginning at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, we would encourage you to make a donation to Saint Croix Hospice

Sending my condolences to Steven's family and friends. It was a pleasure having the opportunity to work with him. No matter what he was going through he seemed quick to smile. I'm going to miss hearing his thoughts on his beloved Chiefs. He is going to be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Grief is the last act of love . Where there is deep grief, there was great love. Steven had such an incredible soul, and words can't describe how unfair this is. May Steve's memory be for a blessing. Love you, PITA

It is with great sorrow that we have to say goodbye to Steven, but I know Jesus needed Steven more than all of us. His mother told me a great story of the day he talked to his Grandmother about Jesus and how only he could have had that conversation with her. Steven accomplished much in his short life time, but to be a soul winner for Jesus was the greatest accomplishment!

Steven’s hope was/is in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! I could not say anything with greater Eternal significance than that hope-filled statement. Steven is now exploring his forever home right in the unveiled Presence of his Holy Heavenly Father and his Co-Heir, Jesus Christ. His Eternal Body is made brand new with none of earth’s hindrances. What a powerful LIFE he is experiences…
