Greg, Jane, and Mary, So very sorry about the loss of your mom, but I just smile thinking about her being reunited with your sweet Dad and with my mom, Iris. I’d really hoped that we would be able to get together and have lunch, but as life is, it just gets busy and it doesn’t slow down for anything. I hope to see you on Tuesday, however, my husband and I are taking care of his youngest brother who is ill with pancreatic cancer, so we will just have to see how things are going. I just think about how much fun our folks had as young couples in Mission starting out, with Bill and Virginia, and so many other young couples who were starting families. And they kept their friendships all their lives. God bless you all.

Dearest family of Doris, Frank and are sending our love and sympathy to you as you mourn the loss of your dear Mother! She and Jim were dear friends of ours from Holy Cross and Serra! In fact, Jim recruited Frank to join the Serra group many years ago! Through Frank, I was able to get to know Doris and Jim! We will miss them because of who they were and how they made us all feel more important than we really were! Doris was a gem who kept Jim’s light shining brightly after Jim passed away! Jane, my prayers are with you and your family. Your mother ( and father) was an amazing person to know. Her love for our parish and the Church were so important to her as well as to your dad. Hopefully her kindness and her strong faith will continue to live on by those who knew her. With deep sympathy, Mary Ann Meert

I’m so sorry to hear about A. Doris and wish I could be with the family during this time. She definitely was a remarkable woman and always impressed me with her ability to remember details even in her later years. I must also mention that she really knew how to make delicious German potato salad! All my love, Becky

Greg I hope you remember me as the guy that approached you and your mom at Resurrection Cemetery about five months after her husband, your dad, passed away. Doris was upset that the cemetery had not smoothed out the ground or planted grass on his grave. I promised her that I would take care of that for her and I did the next day. I got some topsoil and a few pieces of sod and watered them for a few weeks until it took hold. Not knowing an address to let her know I sent a letter to Porters and they notified me that she got the letter and then I got a reply from her I cherished being able to do that for her and your family. I was at the cemetery today and saw she was buried and you have my condolences. I'll watch to see if she and your dad need some care when I go there to take care of my wife's parents plots. May she and your dad be rejoicing in heaven together, again.

So sorry to hear about Doris. We just heard about it today July 5. At mass. Imagine Jim and her are having a great reunion. They were both good people and great neighbors. I miss seeing Jim out in the yard and stopping to talk. I'm sure they went straight to heaven. God bless
