Feb 15, 1953---Jun 19, 2026

Elizabeth Hart Anderson, of Leawood, Kansas, went home to be with the Lord and her beloved husband on June 19, 2026. She was a cherished mother, eagerly awaiting the upcoming birth of her first grandchild, and a devoted friend. She will be deeply missed.

Elizabeth was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on February 15, 1953, to Dale Richard Anderson and Helen Virginia Hart. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a Bachelor of Arts in 1975 and earned her Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law in 1980.

She moved from Santa Rosa, California to Leawood in 2001, where she and her husband, John, raised their greatest achievements, their children, Devlin and Judson. She was dedicated to the Leawood community as a member of the Leawood Welcomers and a devoted parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish. Her Catholic faith was central to her life, even taking a solo trip to Israel in 2016 to immerse herself in the Holy Land.

Elizabeth was full of energy and light. Her kindness was contagious and her smile infectious. She loved her Kansas City Chiefs and was often spotted donning her Chiefs scarf even after a tough loss, a true testament to her positivity.

She is survived by her children, Devlin and Judson, and their spouses and is predeceased by her husband, John.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish, 14251 Nall Avenue, Leawood, Kansas 66223.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Purrfect Pets, a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue and adoption agency, or to Two Lines Pregnancy Clinic, a local clinic that provides support and guidance for those experiencing unplanned pregnancies.

Judson, thank you for sending this to us. My husband Gerry and I got to know Liz these past few years. We gathered and prayed a monthly rosary together for our loved ones. She loved you dearly and we will continue to pray for all of you and especially for your upcoming birth. She was a beautiful woman. Always so elegant. We truly enjoyed getting to know her.

Hi Judson and Devlin, I am heartbroken to hear of your mom's passing. Karen and I adored your whole family. Your mom was a whirlwind of wonderful energy and a great sense of humor. The three of us would be setting up our classroom during recess and we'd just laugh & laugh & laugh. She was so much fun. What a fantastic mom she was too. How she loved you two!! Luckily, we kept in touch for years. I tried to contact her a few months ago because I was coming out to visit other friends who live in Leawood, Kansas and was hoping we'd be able to connect for a visit. Oh how it saddens me to know she's gone. She was so, so proud of you both. My heart goes out to you in hopes you will heal enough to continue on creating your terrific lives and families. She was truly looking forward to being a grandma too. Big love, lots of hugs and happy, joyful thoughts that we all were lucky enough to have Elizabeth in our lives. Love, Joanne Borovoy and of course, Karen Holtman too!🌈🩷🐰💙🌻 bunzmail4jo@aol.com 5281 Westside Road Healdsburg, CA 95448

To Elizabeth's family: I just heard of her passing at mass this weekend, and thus I am sorry I didn't know about the funeral Saturday. I will be praying for her soul and your whole family. I first met her many years ago when I first joined St. Michael's. She always greeted me with the most lovely smile and always remembered me. Connie said it best - she was elegant. Her faith shone through her face and demeanor. I will miss seeing her around the church. May God hold you all tightly during this difficult time.

One more God moment...I was cleaning through some old paper copies of things from prior year bible studies literally ONE HOUR after my last post, and found a couple of emails from your Mom! Nothing overly sentimental, mostly planning things at church, but it made me smile. What are the odds?? Happy to send you a couple pages copy if you email but but just know the impact she had on so many. (Dated 2008!!)

I just learned of your mom’s passing. Sending my heartfelt condolences to you. I looked forward to seeing your mom at church. She always looked so striking in her beautiful coats and dresses, but her beautiful smile was her perfect accessory. Her greetings made me feel special. It was her smile and her genuine interest in the people she interacted with. We would chat after mass about our children. She prayed for my daughter during challenging times and I prayed for her children. Through hardships she was faithful. She was so excited to be a grandmother. I will miss her presence at St. Michael’s. I know you kids know it already but you lit up her life. Peace and God’s blessings to you always.
