Feb 01, 1951---Mar 21, 2026

Norma Lea Sollman, 75, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026.

Norma was born on February 1, 1951, and grew up in Princeton, Missouri. She graduated from Princeton High School in 1969. After graduation, she moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where she met the love of her life, Fredrick Herbert Sollman, on a blind date. The two were united in marriage on September 11, 1976, and shared nearly 50 years together.

From 1970-1980, Norma worked as an insurance adjuster before leaving work to stay home with her children, Shawn and Angela. In 1987, she returned to the workforce at Kansas City Auto Auction, where she worked in payroll and later as a Title Clerk before retiring in 2015.

Norma had a deep love for genealogy and enjoyed tracing her family history. She wrote a book about the family of Calvin Crouse, her ancestor and Civil War Veteran. She became a member of North Oak Christian Church in 1989, and was an eager contributor to the church’s community. She served in many volunteer roles over the years including as the Church Treasurer. Norma was devoted to her family and found her greatest joy in the time she spent with them. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert Dewain Hagan and Gladys Elaine (Hart) Hagan.

She is survived by her loving husband, Fredrick Sollman; her son, Shawn Fredrick Sollman and his wife, Monica Kurz, and their children, Ayla Jane Sollman and Amos Henri Sollman; her daughter, Angela Elaine (Sollman) Baker and her husband, George Todd Baker, and their children, Kahlen Elaine Baker and Samuel Levi Baker; her sister, Patsy Ann (Hagan) Abernathy and her husband, Dan Abernathy; her brother, Clifford Dewain Hagan; and her sister, Donna Faye (Hagan) Covey and her husband, Mike Covey.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at North Oak Christian Church, 9900 North Oak Trafficway, Kansas City, Missouri 64155, with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m.

Graveside services will be held later that afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at Bethel Church, 12465 State Highway P, Cainsville, Missouri 64632.

Norma will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations made to North Oak Christian Church.

It is with a heavy heart and sincere sympathies that I send this message. I know Fred from being in the same school (Northboro High School) for several years.
