Jun 06, 1950---Feb 07, 2026

Leslie A. Green, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, was called home on February 7, 2026, at the age of 75. The daughter of Bob and Donis Curtis, Leslie was born and raised in Wamego, Kansas. She eventually moved to Lenexa, KS after marrying the love of her life, Lance Green.

Throughout her professional life, Leslie served as a receptionist, a role that perfectly suited her warm and welcoming personality. She took great pride in her work and truly cherished the many lasting relationships she built with her colleagues and those she greeted each day. Leslie belonged to Good Shepherd Catholic Church and was a passionate supporter of the El Buen Pastor Community in El Salvador. Her commitment to service was reflected in the way she lived—always offering a helping hand or a kind word to those in need. Leslie found beauty in the world around her. She was an avid bird watcher who found peace in nature and had a deep appreciation for the magic of the theater. Leslie was a devoted animal lover who adored her dogs, who were her constant and faithful companions.

Leslie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lance Green. Her memory will be carried on by her family: her son, Jason Green, and his wife, Katy; and her two granddaughters, Grace and Claire, who she was extremely proud of. She is also survived by her sister, Sherry Wilson, and the extended Wilson/McLemore family.

Visitation and Mass will be held on February 13, 2026, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church located at 12800 W. 75th St., Shawnee, KS 66216.

Visitation: 10:00 AM

Funeral Mass: 11:00 AM

Interment: Following mass Leslie will be returned home to her roots for a graveside service at the Wamego City Cemetery in Wamego, KS.

The last time I visited with Leslie in her home, we were joined by her adorable Scruffy, her fur-baby dog. And if you knew her, dogs were true family members. I know that she wanted to be with Lance again, but my heart is broken that she went so suddenly, before I got a chance to see her again. I will treasure the times we had in slumber parties, school musicals, Wamego high school pep bus, ball games & memories of the years since. She was always willing to say “I love you”, whenever we parted. Such a special lady!! I deeply regret missing her service, as I will be out of town.

Leslie and my mom, Connie (Farrell) Ediger were best friends from high school. As I was growing up, Leslie and Lance were like a bonus aunt and uncle to my brother and me! I remember them being at almost all of our yearly birthday parties and Christmas parties, and they gave us really great gifts!! Leslie gave me “girly” gifts like necklaces, decorative bookmarks, miniatures for my shadowbox - all things I still like to this day. And I’ve always loved the way she decorated her home with artistic things, and cute collectibles that would bring stories and fun to her home. Leslie was always so supportive of my musical performances, and she went to my shows whenever she was able to. She and Lance even came to one of my shows in Pittsburg, KS where I was living at the time. It was just a few months before Lance passed away. They totally surprised me as I went to greet audience members after the performance and I saw them there, waiting to say hello! It is just such a happy memory that the two of them made the trip to come and support me. I always thought Leslie had a very contagious laugh. I found her sense of humor very relatable, because sometimes you just have to laugh and roll your eyes at things that are ridiculous. My dad passed away a few months ago, and she called me with the most beautiful words of empathy and encouragement. It meant so much for her to reach out, even though she herself had many things she was dealing with at the time. She was a beautiful, thoughtful, opinionated, and fun person, and I’m so glad she was a part of my life. We will miss you very much, Leslie!!

Leslie (and Lance) were among the original neighbors in our subdivision — we all moved in about the same time. They were fantastic neighbors and were always so sweet to my daughter. Leslie always kept in touch, and after I moved out of state, we would connect via text often. I would visit Leslie on my occasional visits back to KC — and it was just like we had visited last week. I loved that! She was a great hostess, getting the OG neighbor ladies together when I came in town. She was quite a special lady. I will miss her kindness and warm heart. May she rest in peace with her beloved Lance.

Leslie and I met in high school and have been very best friends for over 60 years. Through the decades we were always by each other’s side during both the good times as well as the bad times in our lives. She treated my children just like her own. Leslie gave my two young children a bit of spending money when we went to Disneyland so they could learn the value of a dollar. Les and Lance also gifted my son their old car after they had purchased a new one. Such love and generosity! Leslie was caring, kind hearted, generous, loved her family and her “fur babies”, was very proud of her granddaughters, had contagious laughter, and always wanted to help make everyone’s life a little bit better. My heart is so very sad but I know Leslie is no longer in pain and is now reunited in heaven with the love of her life. I will miss our weekly visits and phone calls and I will miss the once-in-a-lifetime precious friendship I had with my forever “bestie”…

I’m so very sorry to hear of Leslie’s passing. We just spoke a couple of weeks ago. She was home from rehab, or so she said. I’ll miss her smile, our chats, and the times we were able to get together. I have great memories of Leslie and our time at I T, and our continued friendship afterwards. My heartfelt sympathy and prayers to all of her family.

Dear Jason,Katy, Grace and Friends, I am heartbroken to hear of Leslie’s passing. I remember when Leslie joined IBT. I remember her excitement with the pregnancy announcements of Grace and Claire. I remember how proud she was to display their photos on her desk through the years. We remained friends after our working years were over. Though we didn’t get together frequently, we kept in touch over the phone. I last spoke to Leslie the end of January. We planned to get together as soon as I got over my cold., because I wasn’t going to expose her to it. I’ll always remember her laugh, her smile, and her friendship. I remember visiting when Lance was alive and having great lab conversations as one medical technologist to another. Leslie and Lance were. wonderful couple and fun to be around. Now they are reunited. My prayers for all of you. I know her memory will live on in your hearts.
