Aug 29, 1955---Jan 21, 2026

Jeffrey Dale Miller, age 70, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on January 21, 2026.

Jeff was born on August 29, 1955, in Oak Grove, MO to Paul and Florine Miller. His family moved to Leawood, KS in 1964.  Jeff attended Shawnee Mission East High School and Drake University, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Phi.  At Drake, he met his future wife, Betsey Sanderson.  They married in 1979 and raised two sons, Raleigh and Ethan. Jeff had an illustrious career as a consulting actuary and Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. He was a member of the Kansas City Breakfast Club and attended Unity Church of Overland Park where he served terms as President and Treasurer of the Board of Directors.

Those who knew Jeff will remember his generosity of spirit, his gift for storytelling, and his deep commitment to friends and family. A self-described FUN-amentalist, Jeff played trombone in the Kansas All-State Band and the Drake Jazz Band, as well as the halftime show at the 1971 AFC Divisional playoff game, when the Chiefs lost to the Miami Dolphins.  As a lifelong fan, he relished the Chiefs’ recent Superbowl wins.  Jeff loved musical theatre and was very proud when watching his sons perform on stage. He solved many of the world’s problems over conversations with his weekly cigar group. Jeff was a successful businessman who took pride in providing for his family, and he loved working. He would tell you that nothing sounded more boring than retirement. During his last months, he found joy and respite in still being able to work. More than anything else, Jeff loved holiday gatherings, Sunday football games, and trips to Lake of the Ozarks with his family.

In addition to Betsey, Raleigh (Jenny Bates) and Ethan, Jeff is survived by: sister Linda Difolco (Tony) and their children Kelly Nuño (Trino) and Chris (Tiarah); sister-in-law Pam Whitt (Robert) and their son Michael (Kathryn); brother-in-law Jack Sanderson (Dorie), and their children Maree Henke (Andrew), Emily and Jackson; ten grandnieces and grandnephews, and two more on the way. He was preceded in death by his mother Florine and father Paul.

Jeff will be deeply missed and warmly remembered. A donation in Jeff’s honor to Quality Hill Playhouse or AdHoc Group Against Crime would be a welcome tribute.

Since 1991 Jeffrey’s becoming a member of KCBC and his father Paul preceded. He was of meaningful fellowship. Always gracious sharing his knowledge and intellect with our membership. Using his talents he once calculated information for me to present to a National Right to Life conference. For the last year/& a half. I’ve been a prayer warrior for him and the family, as I shall remain. Also he’ll be missed at KCBC’s board meetings, breakfasts, stags and socials. In His Service I’ll Remain, Glenn E. Darrow II

Jeff always had the ability to engage with anyone and make that person feel special. A trait that few people genuinely possessed. I first met Jeff in 1999 and have shared many wonderful times and memories with him over those years. My deepest sympathies to his family during this difficult time. He will be missed by everyone who had the good fortune to know him and work with him.
