Peggy Lorraine Wells, 68, Overland Park, KS, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 11, 2026 at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. A celebration of life party is being planned to celebrate Peggy’s beautiful life where we will share stories and memories as we honor her together.
Peggy was born on December 29, 1957, in Kansas City, KS, the daughter of Gene Sr and Norma (McGinnis) Stuart. She grew up in KCK with her four brothers and two sisters and a countless number of cousins. She was was a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, a cousin, an Aunt and a grandmother. She loved having a big family and enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews. She also was a survivor having beaten breast cancer 11 years ago. Peggy was an avid bowler who not only bowled in local leagues with her family and friends, but competed in numerous tournaments around the Midwest. She made her passion her career and worked over 2 decades at Tower Lanes in KCK where she made life-long connections with so many friends. She also got to work side-by-side with mother, sisters, nieces, a nephew and her kids. She used her talent to teach and coach youth bowlers, including her own children. She taught her beloved grandchildren to bowl at a very young age and took them bowling as often as she could. Peggy was fortunate enough to stay at home with her grandchildren when they were very young which created special bonds for all of them. She loved her grandkids fiercely and supported them on all their adventures. Whether it was cheering them on at a volleyball or baseball game or proudly applauding in the school theatre auditorium, she was always there. Peggy's true sidekick was her little Shih Tzu, Louie. Louie was her constant companion and loved her so much.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Gail, and brothers Gene Jr and and Gary. Peggy is survived by her husband of 28 years, Thomas Wells Sr, son Jesus (JC) Toth Jr, daughter Jennifer Voyles, daughter-in-law Kelly, son-in-law Cory, stepson Thomas Wells Jr, sister Sandra Hyde, brothers Michael and Patrick Stuart, grandchildren Christopher and Natalie Toth, and Amber and Drew Voyles. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends, including former husband and life-long friend Jesus (Chris) Toth Sr.
