It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jayden Magoma on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the age of 14. Born on December 28, 2010, Jayden brightened the lives of all who knew him. He passed away peacefully following a year-long struggle with epileptic seizures, which led to frequent hospitalizations.
Jayden will be remembered for his big smile, his wonderful sense of humor, and his ability to be incredibly accommodative to people. He was a kind and loving soul who genuinely loved everyone he met.
A Brilliant and Creative Mind
A 9th-grade student at Blue Valley North High School in Overland Park, Kansas, Jayden was a young man of wide-ranging and fierce passions. He was an avid reader who once requested 300 books from the library, constantly seeking knowledge and new stories. His creativity shone through his love for drawing, manga, and anime. He dreamed of becoming a professional manga artist, an animator for Hollywood artists, and a "guy who makes big bucks" in computer science and engineering. His loved ones will always remember his willingness to help with anything to do with computers—a true testament to his helpful and future-focused spirit.
Jayden also loved to be active, both in the virtual world of video games and on the soccer field, where he played with enthusiasm. He was a proud member of the school band, where he played the flute.
Faith and Community
Jayden’s faith was important to him and his family. He was an active member of the New Haven SDA Church, participating in the Youth Group and the Pathfinder Club.
His kindness extended into his school life, where he was always eager to lend a hand. He regularly volunteered at school events, helping with serving food and cleanups, demonstrating a quiet commitment to service and his community.
The family shared a deep love of travel, and Jayden cherished his memories of Mombasa, Kenya. Looking forward, he was excited about the family's plans to visit Hollywood next summer and a trip to China with his father, Dennis, for which he was already part of the planning board meeting.
Family and Legacy
Jayden is survived by his loving parents, Dennis Omosa and Naomi Nyarenchi; his sister, Jewel Obure; and his brother, Jaheem Obure. He also leaves behind his grandparents, cousins, aunties, and many other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
A Visitation will be held from 4-6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Porter Funeral Home, Lenexa, Kansas. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 31, 2025 at New Haven Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 8714 Antioch Rd, Overland Park, KS 66212.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the GoFundMe established in Jayden's honor. The funds will go toward funeral costs.
