May 25, 1960---Aug 13, 2025

Pamela Sue Malott (Henderson), 65, of Kansas City, Kansas, was called home unexpectedly on August 13, 2025. She was born on May 25, 1960, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Robert Henderson Sr. and Alice Maxine (Wendt) Henderson.

Pam attended Washington High School and went on to marry her beloved husband, Thomas W. Malott, with whom she shared a deep and enduring bond.

Pam’s greatest joys in life were her family, her faith, and her love of caring for others. She cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren, and her adventurous spirit shone through her love of traveling. Guided by compassion, Pam pursued a career in nursing, where she dedicated herself to the health and well-being of her patients. Over the course of her career, she worked in PCU, CVC, CVICU, ICU, SICU, Neuro ICU, and Trauma ICU units, most recently caring for veterans at the VA Hospital in Leavenworth, Kansas.

Pam also carried a fierce love for her husband, Tom. Their bond was an anchor in her life, and it brings her family comfort to know that she is now reunited with him, experiencing the joy of togetherness once more.

She is survived by her daughters, Jessica (Kevin) Rolston and Deanna (Kyle) Thorne; her beloved grandchildren, Gavin (Mattie), Mackenzie, Lily, and Violet; and her great-grandson, Waylon. Pam is also survived by her sisters, Linda Thompson and Kathleen Temple; her brothers, Robert Henderson Jr. (Karen) and Phillip Henderson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, extended family, and friends who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Malott, and her parents, Robert Henderson Sr. and Maxine Henderson.

Rosary at 4 p.m. with visitation 4-6 p.m. will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at the Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia St., Lenexa, Kansas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3024 N. 53rd St., Kansas City, KS.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Disabled American Veterans, in Pam’s memory. www.dav.org

Pam will be deeply missed by all who knew her, remembered for her generous heart, unwavering care for others, and the love she shared with her family.

She leaves us with these words:

"Even now I can't claim to understand the true measure of a life, but I can tell you this, I know that when I die, my eyes will close, and my heart will open. I wish you all a long and happy life. And should you hear the tinkling of a bell or chime, with no undeniable explanation from where it came, know it's me, just passing through, saying 'Hello, I'm here, and I'm thinking about you.'"

I enjoyed working with Pam as a physician I trusted her clínical judgement when she called me to discuss a patient. She really cared for the wellbeing of her patients. Heaven got one hell of a good nurse. May she rest in peace reunited with her loving husband.
