With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a beloved daughter, sister, mother, partner and friend, Annamy Dang, affectionately known as "Mimi", who left us far too soon on August 4, 2025, at the age of 47.
Born on June 1, 1978, Mimi grew up in Overland Park, KS. where she developed a lifelong love for her hometown teams — cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, Royals and the Kansas Jayhawks with unwavering pride. Her passion for life extended far beyond sports. She found joy in travel, food (especially Mexican food), and exploring the beauty of national parks, but her heart was always happiest near the ocean. The beach was her sanctuary — a place where her warm spirit seemed to shine even brighter.
She had a rare gift of being strong yet gentle. She was the embodiment of compassion and grace — a natural peacekeeper, endlessly forgiving, and deeply kind. Her presence brought calm, comfort, and laughter to those lucky enough to know her. Whether she was spending time with close friends, planning a new adventure, or simply soaking in a sunset, she did so with an open heart and a radiant smile.
Mimi was a devoted and loving mother to her son, Lestat Dang Earl, who was her greatest joy and whom she cherished above all. She was also a treasured daughter to her father, Nghia Dang; a loving sister to Tony, Andy, and Annabelle Dang, wonderful sister-in-law to Christina and Karen, long-time partner to Lester Earl and a deeply loyal friend to many. She adored her two Goldendoodles, Oliver and Winston, and recently embraced a playful obsession with Hello Kitty that made us smile.
Though her time with us was too short, her legacy of love, kindness, and connection lives on in every heart she touched.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00pm Friday, August 8th, 2025 at Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia Street, Lenexa, KS. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 9th, 2025 at 1:00pm at Neighborhood Church, 8600 W. 91st Terrace, Overland Park, KS. 66212. Friends and family are invited to gather, share memories, and honor the beautiful life she lived.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mimi's GoFundMe (
