Henry S. Ramirez, 80, Catholic, strong husband, strong father, loving grandfather, and loving great grandfather passed away in his home filled with his family in Lenexa ks on July 19, 2025. He was surrounded by his family; his loving wife of almost 60 years Jessie Ramirez, his son Ruben, his grandson Gabriel and his granddaughter Allison.
Henry was born in October of 1944 in San Antonio, Texas to the Ramirez Family. His father Joe and his loving wife had seven children.
Henry enlisted in the US Marine Corps at the age of 17 with his mother’s permission and served from 1962 to 1966.
Henry and Jessie married in July of 1967 in Southern California and raised three children, his oldest a daughter and then two sons.
Henry was a very quiet and very loving man, when he made a true friendship the friendship was for life. He never expended energy on tall tales or false stories, he just politely said “take that somewhere else”.
Henry loved to laugh when he was in good company and he was always truthful. He taught his kids to be truthful and that common courtesy is given freely but respect is earned.
He is survived by his wonderful wife Jessie, his daughter, both sons, his grand children and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30 AM Thursday, July 31 at Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia St., Lenexa. Burial will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery at 12:30pm
