Eldon D. Boling, 77, of Clay Center, KS, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. A Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 AM followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 2, at the Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church 730 Court St., Clay Center, KS 67432. Reception/luncheon will follow the Mass at the church hall. Graveside Service will be 2:00 PM at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Clyde, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children’s Hospital or SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church Building Fund.
Eldon was born January 18, 1948, in San Francisco, CA to Louis "Jack" Boling and Ellen (Peltier) Boling. He grew up in a military family, traveling the world. After graduating from Clyde Rural High School in 1966, he joined the United States Marines and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. After leaving the military, Eldon graduated from Fort Hays State University in 1973. He was a pipeline surveyor for much of his career. His hobbies included gardening—he was a Master Gardener known for his yard full of flowers—collecting antiques, especially Coca-Cola memorabilia, and taking the scenic route, a favorite pastime he especially enjoyed with his granddaughters. He also loved playing cards, spending time with friends, and he was an avid KU fan.
Eldon was very focused on his family, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Candace, two sons Kenneth and his wife Renee Boling, Brandon Boling and his companion Maryjo Thompson, two granddaughters Olivia and her husband Zackary Fredrickson, Catherine Boling, great granddaughter Stevie Jean Fredrickson and his sister Janet Odgers. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Louis Boling.
