It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jonathan Charles Patton, 18, of Olathe, Kansas. Jonathan passed away unexpectedly on April 30th, 2025. He was born on March 22, 2007, at Loma Linda Hospital in California, the beloved son of Charles and Monica Patton. Jonathan was a man of strong faith. He loved God and His Son, Jesus Christ. His saving faith touched everyone around him and made him a joy to have as a friend. As an organ donor he continues to help save lives.
Jonathan loved to serve in volunteer ministries at Lenexa Baptist Church. He served with his dad in ministry services starting at only 9 years old, helping set up for the Sunday transportation services. He was dad’s greeter and an ambassador for Christ. When he turned 17 he graduated to parking lot greeter and was loved by so many who watched him grow up serving God. Jonathan, side by side with mom and dad, also loved serving as part of the Kanas City Rescue Mission monthly.
Beyond this Jonathan went with dad to many work events and quickly learned to greet attendees and made product presentations for multiple companies. Jonathan was, and is, a joy to partner with. Always dad’s son, buddy, best friend, and servant of the Lord.
Jonathan moved with his family to Olathe, Kansas, in June 2014, where he quickly became known for his vibrant personality, kind heart, and deep passion for technology. He was a devoted fan of video games and found joy in both playing and connecting with friends. He loved working at Cybership, where he made many lasting friendships, and was known for his enthusiasm, quick wit, strong work ethic, and sense of humor. He was a leader by example and left an impact that will remain after him. His work ethic was outstanding and caused him to be promoted to COO an Co-Founder of the company just before his passing.
A dedicated and hardworking young man, Jonathan had just completed his finals at Johnson County Community College and was about to receive his GED, marking a significant milestone in his academic journey. His determination and drive were evident to all who knew him, and his future held great promise.
Jonathan is survived by his loving parents, Charles and Monica Patton; his two older sisters, Sarah and Allyson; and his two beloved cats, Phillip and Ranger. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him—family and friends alike.
To his sisters he will always be their little baby brother Jon-Jon the Leprechaun. Together they shared many adventures traveling and attending festivals and conventions. Jonathan was able to travel to Disneyland with both of his sisters for a magical bonding trip, his oldest sister Sarah took him to meet some of his favorite actors at conventions, and every year he would attend the Renaissance Festival with them to eat turkey legs while watching a joust. Together they dressed up in costume and had as much fun as they could.
Jonathan was known for his caring and loyal nature, always ready to lend a hand or offer a listening ear. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and his legacy will continue through the strong friendships he built and the joy he brought into the world.
A memorial service will be held at Lenexa Baptist Church for family and friends on May 7th, 2025. A public viewing will be at 10:00 AM. Service will be at 11:00 AM followed immediately by the burial at Lenexa Cemetery.
Jon had a deep passion for performance vehicles and became deeply involved in the local car community. A memorial car meet will take place on May 20th, 2025, at 5:30 PM in Heritage Park in his honor. His BRZ, “Luna” will be displayed as a memorial to Jonathan.
Rest in peace, Jonathan. You will forever be remembered, loved, and missed. Through faith in his Savior, Jesus Christ, he awaits all his family and friends who believe the Gospel.
