Charles Shafer 76 passed away April 28th in his home in Kansas City Missouri.  

Charles Everett Shafer IIII was born in Charleston West Virginia on October 7, 1948, son of Charlotte & Charles Everett Shafer III.

Charlie moved to Kansas City in 1968 and worked at Hallmark Cards, Crown Center Real estate Management, and Embassy Suites.

Charlie said he inherited the gift of gab from his father and he never met a stranger. Those that knew him, knew his unique and honest character, personality and his extraordinary sense of humor. Truly one of a kind.

Charlie was a sports prognosticator who enjoyed wagering on many sports, He had been a regular at the Horse and Dog track and was known as Papa Smurf's at the local Casino's.

Charlie was never married and had no children. He was preceded by both his Father and Mother.

Charlie was a best friend and confidant. He will be greatly missed. He lived his life on his own terms and all that knew him, knew how exceptional he was, his honesty, his character, his kindness, his sense of humor, with such a unique personality, that it made him one of a kind. You lived your life right, rest in peace my friend.
