David A. Whitesel, 72, of Shawnee, KS, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025. Visitation will be start at 9:30 AM, Rosary at 10:00 AM with the Funeral Mass following at 10:30 AM Thursday, April 24, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 13615  W. 92nd, Lenexa, KS.  Private family burial will be at the Leavenworth National Cemetery.

David was born December 17, 1952, the third of ten children of Dale and Lea Whitesel in Omaha, Nebraska. He is survived by his son Carlos Whitesel, his ex-wife Maria Diaz, and siblings: Dan, Kathy Maxey, Susie Sonsini and husband Jimmy, John Whitesel and wife Diane, and Chris Brown and husband Randy, Tom Whitesel and wife Michelle, Mary Pearson and husband Roger, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.  

David was an Army Veteran. He lived most of his life in Omaha, NE. and in Shawnee, KS. He had a successful career in sales with several ventures of his own. David was a free spirit and lived a life of many adventures. He will be missed by many who he touched in this life.
