Sep 29, 1950---Apr 11, 2025

George Albert Madrigal, a beloved father, grandfather, and cherished friend to many, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, at Overland Park Place, surrounded by those he loved and who loved him. He was 74.

Born in Kansas City, Kansas, on September 29, 1950, George lived a vibrant life filled with music, culture, travel, and generosity. From an early age, he brought joy to those around him—whether through a song, a warm smile, or a heartfelt story. A lifelong lover of music, he sang proudly in the Saint Peter’s Cathedral choir in Kansas City, Kansas, where his voice became a familiar comfort to his faith community.

George was a proud alumnus of Pittsburg State University and a devoted member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. His years there nurtured his love for connection, leadership, and cultural discovery. After college, he began a fulfilling career with Trans World Airlines (TWA), where he combined his passion for people and travel. His journeys across the globe deepened his appreciation for the richness of human experience and cultural exchange.

After retiring from TWA, George joined Hallmark Cards as an ambassador for the Latin America brand. This role allowed him to celebrate his Latin heritage with pride and help connect communities through meaningful words and thoughtful expression—values he held dear throughout his life.

George’s kindness reached far and wide. He was a dedicated troop leader, a joyful cook, and a fierce advocate for animals. His giving spirit made people feel welcome and loved—whether he was mentoring youth, sharing a homemade meal, or rescuing a stray in need.

Above all, George was a devoted father to his three sons: Christian Madrigal, Calvin Madrigal, and Campion Madrigal. He shared a strong and lasting friendship with their mother, Juanita Madrigal, whose support and presence remained an important part of his life. He was also a proud grandfather, and his legacy lives on in the family he treasured so deeply.

George’s life was rich with laughter, faith, and compassion. He lived fully, gave freely, and loved deeply—and those who knew him will carry his warmth and wisdom always.

A visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 17,2025 at the Porter Funeral Home, Lenexa, Kansas.

He will be deeply missed, and joyfully remembered.

George and I knew each other for about 18 months and 16 of those months. We were very good friends and had a relationship. I loved him more than more than ever know and I’m gonna miss him dearly. George, I’m so glad that you came into my life, even though it was for a short period of time. Even though I miss you dearly I know you’re not suffering anymore and that I will see you One day soon.

To the Madrigal family, sorry to hear of George's passing, my oldest son Paul Jr. told me years after it happened that George saved his life, he went swimming in the pool at the Madrigal house and drifted into the deep end and couldn't swim at that time, told me George jumped in and saved him from drowning, I thanked him years later, I'll always be grateful that God used him to save my son,.
