Peggy and family, I was sad when I heard that Francis had passed onto his heavenly reward. I always liked and respected him. He was a gentleman and a wonderful classmate way back when! You can always be proud of the man, father and husband that he was. God bless you all and help you through the days ahead.

My thoughts, prayers, and sympathies for the family. Francis was a nice man and fellow Sacred Heart member. He would always come around at times to our drinking establishment and buy us all a round of that good old Rocky Mountain Coors. His brother, Jerry Mac, played softball with us for years too. Rest in Peace Francis.

Peggy & Kids I speak for my siblings when I say that our dad (Rich Strecker) had the utmost respect for his friend, co-worker, and partner during their time at Coors. As our dad usd to say, the world is a better place with a guy like Francis McElgunn in it. Rest assured that even though the pain is very real right now, Francis lived a good life and has certainly earned his place in heaven. And for that we should all be glad.

May his soul and the souls of the faithfully departed rest in peace. Peggy I am most saddened to hear of Francis’s passing. Had hoped to attend funeral but coordinating out and back during Holy Week a problem. So I have written a letter to you recapping our time together growing up and joining the Navy along with Bill Burton. Again most sorry for your loss and even though you were in KC missed you when I visited Dodge City. God bless and keep you. Was really wanting to meet your kids again as well as all those grand kids. ????????

Just wanted to say how very sorry I am to the entire McElgunn family for their loss. Always had the upmost respect for Francis during my time working for him. He was always firm but fair. We had many talks throughout the years and some good laughs also. One of the best things was getting to know his family and especially Peggy. Was glad me and my friend Traci Poer (another employee of Francis’s) were able to make it to the funeral. It was a beautiful service. Always hate reconnecting under such sad circumstances but was so good to see everyone again. Please know we are thinking and praying for all of you during this sad time. Rita and Bill Hommertzheim
