Nancy Kurtz, 81, of Kansas City, KS. passed away April 3, 2025, at Kansas City Hospice House

A celebration of life will be held on May 4th, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Living Peace Fellowship Church of the Brethren, 7060 Leavenworth Rd. Kansas City, KS 66109.

Burial was held on April 11, 2025, at Halstead Cemetery in Halstead, KS.

Nancy was born June 23, 1943, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Alton and Edith (Bowman) Kurtz. Nancy is preceded by her parents, her sisters Ellen Kurtz and Dorothy Longmire. She is survived by a nephew, Ed Longmire and a niece Lisa Cooper.

Nancy was a devoted member of The Church of the Brethren.  She was a Sunday School teacher, chairperson of several committees at the church, and led a prayer group. She was a member of Shepherd's Center, which she held classes on how to make greeting cards and scrapbooking.

She attended McPherson College then went to Kansas State College where she obtained a Master's Degree.  Upon graduating, she came to Kansas City, KS. and took a teaching position with Coronado Middle School.
