Bob was born on September 7, 1934 in Leavenworth, Kansas, to Dorothy and Charles Pike. He was raised in a military family, traveling extensively throughout the US and abroad. Bob proudly served in the United States Army. Following his service, he attended Donnelly College. While attending college, Bob met the love of his life, Trudy Manczuk. The two married in 1956 and spent 68 beautiful years together, building a life filled with love, laughter and devotion. God blessed them with six amazing children: Greg (Cindy) Pike, Rob (Gwenn) Pike, Susie (Ray) Humphrey, Cindy (Scott) Lynn, Pam (Dave) Rutherford and Debbie (Jon) Blongewicz. Bob cherished his role as a grandfather to 11 adorable grandchildren and great-grandfather to 10 sweet grandkids, all of whom brought him immense joy.
Bob enjoyed a successful career as a architectural design salesman. After retirement, he found fulfillment in new roles as a real estate agent and later as a school bus driver – a job he often said brought him the most joy. Bob loved coaching his children's sporting teams in his younger years and later became his family's biggest fan, attending countless games, recitals and activities.
He also loved traveling with his family, camping, boating and spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks, and found great happiness in time spent with family. He had an ornery sense of humor and always had a joke to share with his grandkids.
Bob and Trudy have been devoted members of Christ the King Catholic Church for 67 years. Bob lived a beautiful life centered on family, faith and simple pleasures. He will be deeply missed as a loving husband, father, Grandpa and Great Grandpa. He will be remembered fondly as a remarkable man who touched countless lives.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, son Greg, daughter Debbie and son-in-law Dave.
