Kenneth Laverne was born March 13, 1961 to Effie Louise and Ernest Walter Diehl. His sisters and brother were 11 to14 years his elder, which led to uniquely different growing up environments.
2 sisters, Carol Ann Schembs who lives in Washington, Sally Irene Diehl who lives in Oregon and an older brother Larry residing in Shawnee, KS.
Kenny graduated from Schlagle High School, Kansas City, Kansas, thereafter graduated from Kansas University School of Engineering with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1983. He quickly became a Registered Mechanical Engineer in Kansas, Missouri, lowa and short term in other states as needed.
He thoroughly enjoyed his parents. participated in camping for many years. He also enjoyed collecting baseball cards, memorabilia and quality comic books of 50's 60's 70's Vintage.
Kenny prided himself on continuing his engineering education through professional associations, conferences, journals, magazines and acquired books. His library would fit educational needs of some colleges!
Kenny's work involved an array of building types, public court buildings, Power plants / Stations for industrial applications, small and large Commercial projects. He worked very well with GSA and respectfully received many contracts. He conferred with several national retailers, such as "The Gap" clothing stores, to locate and evaluate potential store sites/locations across the country. He loved his clients, one being Kansas City, MO City Hall. He spoke often of the problems and issues they encountered.
Kenny worked with good local engineering firms.

Kenny contracted a couple of bad diseases almost simultaneously. Parkinsons and Bone Marrow Cancer. The doctors felt the diseases fed on each other, accelerating both rapidly. He found himself with an alert brain and a body that would not respond.
Kenny developed very close relationships and love for our Mom and Dad. Shared experiences, vacations, daily meals, etc.… as an “obedient little guy”. Very different than Mom & Dad and "3 brats who won't sit still and eat their potatoes and peas!”
Our parents loved all of us, just in different way's. Kenny hopes to join our Mom & Dad, to relive the best years and memories of his life! May God grant him his wish!
Kenny, we all love you too.
