Bob (Lucien) R. Pike, 79, of Shawnee, KS, passed away peacefully in his home Tuesday, February 25, 2025, after a courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Bob was born March 1, 1945, in Kansas City, KS, he was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Betty Roark. He is survived by his beloved wife, Margie, his son Andrew, daughter-in-law Kaylee; his cherished grandson, Luka; his sister and brother-in-law, Patty and Jim Lehn; in addition to three more sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, nine nieces and nephews, and seventeen great-nieces and nephews.
Bob was a man of many talents and passions. As the owner and general contractor of his own business, he was known for his exceptional skill and craftsmanship. He possessed an innate ability to fix and build anything, a testament to his remarkable handiness.
His love for the outdoors was undeniable. He found joy in hiking, water skiing, and taking leisurely walks with his beloved dog. Bob was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan, cheering them on through every season. He was deeply involved in the Boy Scouts of America, sharing his passion for adventure with his son, Andrew, culminating in two memorable trips to Philmont Scout Ranch.
Bob embraced life to the fullest. He loved to dance and celebrate, bringing joy to those around him. He cherished his neighbors, found solace in the beauty of the beach and the ocean, and explored the depths of the sea as a scuba diver, earning several awards as a dedicated club member. He was also an avid member of the Black Jack Enduro dirt bike riding club, where he won numerous awards for his skill and enthusiasm. He enjoyed the camaraderie of bowling and the thrill of playing softball.
Bob will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, his unwavering dedication to his passions, and his love for life. He faced the challenges of Lewy Body Dementia with strength and grace, inspiring those around him.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Susan, Bob’s devoted caregiver for over three years, who shared her life and passions with him, enriching his days. They also express heartfelt gratitude to the ACG hospice nurses and home health aides, especially Carolyn and Jasmine, for their compassionate care and unwavering dedication.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Shawnee Town, Town Hall, located at 11600 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS 66203. Guests are encouraged to wear their Chiefs attire in honor of Bob.
