Jul 06, 1938---Jan 12, 2025

Sharon Ann Moore passed away on January 12, 2025. Sharon was known for her kindness, selflessness, generosity, friendship, and most of all, her backrubs.

For 25 years, Sharon worked as a nurse in the nursery at Providence Hospital, where she cared for countless families with compassion and dedication. Her impact was so profound that many families continued to send her pictures and letters of gratitude long after their time in her care.

Sharon was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her beloved husband of 72 years, Hugh T. Moore; her daughters Kathy Phillips and Debbie Moore; nine grandchildren (eight living and one deceased); and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Opal and Theodore Neely; her son, Barry Moore; and her granddaughter, Jenny Hightower.

A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held on Saturday, January 25th at 10:00 a.m. at Maywood Community Church (11201 Parallel Pkwy, Kansas City, KS 66109) followed by a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. at the church.

Donations to Maywood Community Church are welcome and appreciated. Contributions can be made at https://maywoodcommunitychurch.org/donations/.

Sharon’s warmth and care touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by those whose lives she enriched.

I met Sharon about 12-15 years ago in a bridge group. She was one of the best people I have ever known. She always displayed a positive and uplifting attitude and was truly interested in everyone with whom she interacted. She and Hugh definitely brightened that bridge group and I so much enjoyed getting to know them. I only wish I could have met them earlier. She will be sorely missed.

John and I are so sorry to hear of Sharon’s passing. I will always be grateful for her kindness. She made me feel welcomed in our bridge group. If she knew you had a problem of some kind you count on her to inquire about how you were doing. Sharon will be missed by everyone.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Sharon. She was the sweetest person. Always caring, thoughtful and an extraordinary nurse. She was also a good friend to me as a young girl as I lived in her neighborhood and knew her son Barry and her sweet daughter in law Amy. She loved us all and I will never forget her and all of our good times at Providence Nursery and all through the years. Rest easy Sharon. To a life well lived. Surely God has you in his arms now.❤️❤️
