Nick was born November 21th, 1992 to Andrew P. (Andy) and Jennifer S. (Yoakum) Bartolac in Kansas City, KS. He was the oldest of two sons of Andy and Jennifer and was full of joy and energy. Nick attended St. Patrick’s Grade School and was a 2011 graduate of Bishop Ward High School. He then attended Pittsburg State University until finding his passion and attended Kansas State University Aerospace and Technology Campus, Salina, KS., seeking a pilot’s license.
Nick had an infectious laugh that mirrored his often mischievous smile and exhibited a true kindness to all he met – especially little kittens and animals. He was loved not just by his parents and brother Jimmy but all of his aunts, uncles and especially his numerous cousins. Nick would do anything for anyone and was genuine in his thoughts, words and actions. His instant humor and the twinkle in his beautiful blue eyes would charm all around him.
Nick played little league baseball, soccer, football, CYO football and High school baseball and football. He loved the Royals and the Chiefs and was split between KSU football and KU Basketball.
Nick spent 10 years building a life in California where he surrounded himself with friends that supported him through his recovery efforts, and he supported them as well. This is a testament to his steadfast attitude, charismatic personality and unrelenting resilience.
He leaves behind his loving parents Andy and Jennifer Bartolac (Basehor, KS), his younger loving brother Jimmy Bartolac (Basehor, KS), numerous aunts and uncles and a slew of cousins from both the Yoakum and Bartolac families.
Nick’s family would like to thank all of Nick’s friends and family friends that expressed their extreme sorrow, thoughts and prayers over the past few days. Your condolences gave us the strength we needed to get through this ordeal.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, December 20 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1086 W. 94th St. Kansas City, KS. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m.
