Marty, we are saddened to hear of Joe's homegoing. It would seem to be oxymoronic to say such, but it is a blessing to know that he is rejoicing in the presence of his Savior and Lord. We are glad to know you have family and friends close by to be supportive in this time of your loss. Dan and Nora

Marty and family. Please accept my condolences. Pastor Hayes was one of the most Godly men I have ever known. In deacons meeting's and in your home he was alway's the same man that was on the podium on Sunday. If I had known he was living in Kansas again I would of tried to visit. Please know I will be praying for your family. Don Magill

We have fond memories of Pastor Hayes as we attended Saylorville Baptist Church when we went to college at FBBC and he did our marriage counseling and helped with our double wedding in 1984. He was a wise and godly counselor and we were blessed to sit under his ministry. Our hearts go out to all of the family in your time of loss.

I was blessed to know Joe for a few years. He was a kind and caring person. I was also privileged to attend his beautiful Celebration of Life. All 10 grandchildren got up along with their parents and sang the most beautiful song. It was absolutely amazing and so emotional. Their voices harmonized beautifully. Brought tears to my eyes in a joyful way. Then after telling my husband I wish I knew Joe before he was sick and when he preached I was blessed again to hear a video if him preaching. I was not disappointed. Rest in peace Joe! We will all take care of Marty. Enjoy your reward for being a faithful servent.

I knew Joe when he was growing up in Clinton, Illinois, and he and his family lived around the corner from me on Julia Street. He was a nice young boy, and I am not surprised to learn that he entered and served in the ministry as an adult. His whole family was good. I especially appreciated his mother and sister, Judy. May God grant the remaining family members His Peace and Love as they go through this time of loss.
