Barbara Mary Young, daughter of Frank and Marjorie (Arensdorf) Young, was born in Lyons, KS on October 8, 1927. A graduate of Marymount College, Salina, KS in 1950 she taught elementary and secondary grades until her marriage to Robert Glenn Miller in 1956. Barbara and Robert (Bob) settled in Dodge City, KS and after raising two children, Barbara was hired as a periodical librarian at St. Mary of the Plains College where she worked until retirement at the closing of the college. She was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Cathedral and the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe of Dodge City.   

Barbara became a resident of Manor of the Plains in Dodge City after her husband Bob’s passing and in recent years moved to Aberdeen Village in Olathe, KS to be nearer her daughter. 

Barbara is survived by her son Gregory Robert (Susan Boase) Miller of Portland Oregon, daughter Patricia Ann Miller (Andy) McGraw and cherished grandsons Clay and Charlie McGraw of Shawnee, KS as well as nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Frank Young and Marjorie (Arensdorf) Young, as well as her three brothers Robert, James and William Young, her sister Mary Kathryn (Mary K) Young Amato, and her twin Elizabeth (Betty) Kathryn Young Higgins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
