John Mark Thomason, Age: 60

John Mark Thomason, 60, beloved son, husband, father and PawPaw, passed away unexpectedly while working out of town in Kansas City, MO on Friday, November 15th, 2024. 

John was born December 16, 1963 in Dallas, TX the son of James Michael and Marjorie Jane (Wood) Thomason. A graduate of Rockwall Christian high school where he was valedictorian in 1983. He soon married the love of his life Mary Kathryn Rogers on July 27, 1985 in Rockwall, TX. Together they raised 2 daughters and a son. 

He was preceded in death by his father, James, and his brother Joe Matthew. John is survived by his brother, James Jr, his mother, Marjorie, his wife of 39 years, Mary, his children Amanda and husband Joshua, Kami and husband Brandon, and his son Cody; as well as his 7 beloved grandchildren, Jeremiah, Marcus, Autumn, John, Logan, Avalyn, and Annabelle. 

John was a kindhearted and thoughtful man who was always there for those around him. A creative and hard working man who would take on any challenge. He will be dearly missed by all those that knew him.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on November 30, 2024 at Rockwall Free Methodist Church, 315 Dalton Rd, Rockwall, TX 75087.

John was a friend…..we all hung out a lot together especially on NYE! I am still in shock he is no longer with us…… He LOVED his family! He told corny jokes….. He laughed a lot, worked hard, and will be sorely missed. Now I think about him up in heaven, still keeping an eye on his family…..spending time with his dad….. We will toast him often!
