Jamie Beatrice Ellis, age 68, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of October 14, 2024.

Jamie was born into the Ledington family on November 21, 1955 in Kansas City, Kansas, to Louis Monroe Ledington and Margaret Mary Ledington (Picknick). She proudly graduated from Turner High School in 1974.

She married her devoted husband Robert Kevin Ellis in 1987, with whom she made their house in Shawnee a home. Her sons, James Robert Owen Jr. of Durant, OK, and Samuel Joseph Ellis of Lenexa, KS, were the pride of her life.

She is predeceased by her parents and her sister Patricia Horning. She is survived by her Husband, her siblings - Daniel Mcghee of Stockbridge, GA, Cathy (and Robert) Wooten of Topeka, KS, Connie (and Michael) Fagan of Basehor, KS, and James (and Patricia) Ledington of Belton, MO, as well as her two sons and their wives Kimberly Owen and Mallory Ellis, step children Tonja Valentine and Randall Ellis, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

A visitation will be held from 9-10am on Saturday, October 19th, 2024, at Porter Funeral Home, located at 1835 Minnesota Ave, Kansas City, KS 66102. A Committal service will follow at approximately 10:30am in the Mausoleum at Mount Calvary Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities of NE Kansas.
