Apr 29, 1944---Oct 04, 2024

Sharon Lee Fossett, 80, Kansas City, Kansas, passed away Friday, October 4th, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospice House, surrounded by her loving family by her side. Her service will be at Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, KS. Visitation on Monday, October 21, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with the funeral following. Graveside service to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS.

Sharon was born on April 29th, 1944, in Kansas City, Kansas. She attended Wyandotte High School. She was a Wyandotte County resident her entire life, residing in her childhood home. She worked for Electrodynamics in Overland Park, KS, for 38+ years until retirement.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Chester and Lena Brownell, her brother Robert E. Brownell, and grandson Mark Fossett. She is survived by her daughter Dianna Brownell, son Michael Fossett (Angel), two nephews Dale, and Jeff (Sheryl) Brownell, and niece Connie. She is also survived by her four grandchildren Michael, Nick (Gina), Michelle (Shane), and Ashley. Nine great-grandchildren Damian, Shane Jr., Athena, Nicole, Kimberly, MaKenzie, MaKynli, Gia, and Vincent. One grand-pup Harley (who places a bone in her recliner every day).

To know Sharon was to love her warm, comforting, and gentle spirit. She had a witty personality and would be the first person to make you smile per her humor, even if it was inappropriate. She never told anyone “no” and always found a way to do what was right. Without hesitation, she opened her home on countless occasions to all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She truly enjoyed the small moments in life such as getting ice cream, going to the casino, and shopping for anyone but herself.

We’ll continue to carry you in our hearts and love you forever, our sweet mother and grandmother.

"If sunflowers grow in Heaven Lord, please pick a bunch for us. Place them in Grandma Sharon’s arms and tell her they're from us. Tell her that we love her and miss her, and when she turns to smile, place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for awhile. Because remembering her is easy, We do it every day. But there's an ache within our hearts that will never go away.” With heavy hearts, we send our love and prayers.
