He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law Kathleen & Andrew Breuer of Lawrence, KS, his son Chase Nowak & Katherine Hamann of Arvada, CO, and three treasured grandchildren Jarrett Breuer, Tyler Breuer, and Ellora Nowak, whom he adored more than life itself. Steve recently retired from Linde/Praxair in June 2024 after an impressive 45-year career in the airgas industry. He was a dedicated employee who took great pride in his work and his customers. Known affectionately as “Gator” by his coworkers and closest friends, he often shared his unique perspective on life, famously saying, “That’s a little ‘Gatorism’ for ya!”
He found great joy in the outdoors and had a passion for fly-fishing, hunting, and camping, often sharing these activities with his grandsons. Steve was also always looking forward to his next trip across Kansas so “Papa” could surprise his granddaughter as she walked out of the doors when the school day had ended.
Anyone who knew him could attest that Steve would always show up, always have your back when needed and would always defend and stand up for you. He will forever be remembered for his social personality, infectious smile, soft heart and steadfast love.
