Aug 16, 1949---Sep 11, 2024

Dave lived the first eight years of his life in the Washington State cities of Yakima, Tacoma, Spokane, and Seattle.  He moved to Fanwood, New Jersey in late 1957.

Dave attended Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School in Scotch Plains, New Jersey and graduated in 1967.  He then attended Denison University in Granville, Ohio and graduated in 1971 with a degree in Political Science.

After returning to New Jersey for several years after college, Dave moved to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1975 where he lived and worked for many years.  Dave’s main employment in St. Petersburg was with Commerce Clearing House (CCH) where Dave was part of a team that reviewed and transcribed legal judgements, which were published and sold to legal firms throughout the United States.

Dave met his future wife Mary at First United Church of St. Petersburg and they were married there on February 1, 1986. Dave and Mary had many happy years in the greater St. Petersburg area until they moved to Troy, Ohio in 2005.

Dave worked for Conagra Brands in the pizza production division until he retired in 2013.  Dave and Mary returned to Florida in 2015 where they lived until Mary’s death in October 2022. Dave moved to Overland Park, Kansas in August 2023 to be closer to a larger number of his family.

Dave’s loves included politics and sports.  He could recite all the presidents of the U.S. in order and followed all political races closely, both locally and nationally.  Dave could talk all sports with anyone and was a big fan of the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team and Tampa Bay Buccaneers football team.

Dave loved to be around family and was actively present at the 15 Roth family shrimp boils held usually in Indian Rocks Beach or Jacksonville, Florida.  He loved to eat, and it was often said, Dave “never missed a meal”.

Dave is preceded in death by his wife Mary (Fredrick) Roth and his parents C.Frederick and Geraldine Roth.  He is survived by three step-children; David Fredrick of Clearwater, Florida, Teresa Fredrick (Preston) of Beaver Creek, Ohio, and Thomas Fredrick (Bia) of Orlando, Florida; and two brothers and their families: Steven Roth (Cheryl Schmitz) of Overland Park, Kansas and Michael Roth (Jeanette) of St. John’s Florida

Dave lived the last 14 months of his life with his two cats, Holly and Annie, at Colonial Village Senior Community of Overland Park, Kansas, where his good nature and soft smile were beloved by all

That smile and friendly nature, along with his 36-year loving devotion to his wife Mary will be remembered by all who loved him.
