Aug 07, 1931---Jul 25, 2024

REV. JOYCE LEE JENNINGS, child of God, passed peacefully into her life with Jesus on July 25, at the Olathe Hospice House in Olathe, Kansas.  Joyce was born on August 7, 1931 in Peoria, Illinois.

In her later years Rev. Joyce began a new life; she entered seminary, graduating in 1996 and served the Glenn and Sprakers Reformed Churches near Albany, New York.  She moved, with her husband, to Overland Park, Kansas in 2008, continuing to carry on her ministry in a variety of settings.  For the past several years she conducted worship services for the residents of Bloom where she lived.  Her joy was to share the love and Word of God with those around her.

Left to mourn her passing are her family, the residents of Bloom in Olathe, members of Crossroads Church, and many friends in the community and beyond.

A memorial service will be held at Crossroads Church, RCA, 10551 Quivira Road, Overland Park, KS, 66215,, on Sunday, August 4, at 2pm.  There will be an opportunity for refreshments and conversation following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Rev. Joyce Jennings’ name may be made to the Crossroads Church, (where she was a member) Olathe Hospice House or to the donor’s choice of a Hospice organization.

Joyce was our beloved pastor of Sprakers Reformed Church in NY. Had the pleasure of visiting her a few weeks before she passed. A very special lady.

I had the pleasure to meet Joyce when she lived in Welstone in Mission, Ks. She was a friend to my parents, who lived there and a light and inspiration to all that knew her and her little dog at that time. She then moved to Bloom and I was able to visit her there for some time. She was a joy to be around and I'm sorry that I lost touch with her over the last few years. A very talented and worldly lady/
