Elsie M. Fitzgerald, 97, of Spring Hill, KS passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024.  Services will be Friday, August 2, at 11 am, at Porter Funeral Home, Lenexa, KS.   Visitation at 10 am.

Elsie Was born November 24,1926 in rural Denison, KS to Loyd and Flossie (Renfro) Coleman.  She graduated from Denison High School in 1945 as Valedictorian.  She taught school for several years in rural Jackson and Jefferson County, KS.

Elsie was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, crafts and volunteering in the community.  Family was most important to Elsie.  Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy.   She never missed a birthday, sending a card and baking a cake for the family dinner.  She also enjoyed keeping up with the many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by husband Delber Robb (1956) and Robert Fitzgerald (1992), her parents and brothers, Everett, Wilbur and Dallas Coleman and sisters, Shirley Jenson and Marjorie Todd.

She is survived by daughters, Cindy (Steve) Gilbert, Omaha, NE, Janet (Keith) Hoggatt, Spring Hill, KS and son Gary (Julie) Fitzgerald, Queen Creek, AZ.  8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and Daisy the cat. 

The family would like to thank the many healthcare workers and attendants that cared for her in her brief illness.  We appreciate your care!

Gary i know how much you loved and valued your mother, and took such great care of her. Our friendship during high school, where i say how much love and respect you showed to your parents always humbled me, and reminded me what a superior young man you were, and a true best friend.
