Dec 30, 1930---Jul 21, 2024

Myron “Mike” Eugene Gadow, 93, of Overland Park, KS passed away peacefully on July 21, 2024. Mike was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

Mike was born in Leavenworth, Kansas on December 30, 1930 to Myron H. Gadow and Helen Gadow. After graduating High School at Shawnee Mission North, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and flew in the Korean War. After serving his country, he went to school at Kansas City Kansas Community College and decided to continue his career and passion for flight, flying commercially for thirty years. When he retired from flying, he had a career with the FAA for sixteen years and did “check rides” internationally, ensuring our country’s security and safety during air travel. He retired at the age of 72.

His hobbies included flying the B-25 Fairfax Ghost Bomber, history, antique cars, tinkering on Ford Model A and Ts, his farm, and swap meets. He loved his family, his country, and above all else, he loved the Lord. He was an active member of his church and was fervent in his faith.

He is preceded in death by his wife Shirley Gadow, parents Myron H. Gadow and Helen Gadow, and brother Frank Gadow. He is survived by daughters Leslie Sprung and her husband Jon Sprung;  Alison Cochran, grandchildren Alexis Trickett, Lacy Crozier  and her husband Zeke Crozier;  Briana Cochran, and great-grandchildren Chase, Macie, and Gunnar.

Services will be held on Friday July 26, 2024 at 11:00am at Porter Funeral Homes and Crematory at 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa, KS 66215. Officiant: Pastor Tracy Roby. Graveside service to immediately follow at Mount Muncie Cemetery in Lansing, Kansas 66043.

A special thank you to his church, friends, and everyone who touched his life. In lieu of flowers, one can make a donation to Overland Park Baptist Temple.
