Oct 20, 1944---Jul 08, 2024

William T. "Bill" LaFavor, 79, of Fairway, KS, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 8, 2024 at his home with his family by his side.

Bill was born to the late William and Josephine LaFavor, in Kansas City, KS, on October 20,1944. He attended Blessed Sacrament School, Bishop Ward High School, and eventually Donnelly College. He loved to travel, and his professional career was devoted entirely to the travel industry, including 17 years at Braniff Airlines. He forged lifelong friendships along the way, a tribute to his sweet, caring, and fun nature.

His most impressive achievement, however, was the lasting impact he had on his family. He was passionate about his family, and was proud to attend every grand kid's event he could.

Bill is survived by his wife: Joyce; four children: Julie (Jeff) Knoche, Sheila (Dave) Pitt, Colleen (Jim) Olinger, and Billy (Nina) LaFavor; and a sister: Sharon (Tony) Hackney. He is also survived by ten grandchildren: Lauren (Curtis) Knapp and Jacob Pitt; Maggie, John (Claire), and Tim Dehan; Tara and Braden Olinger; and Meyer, Jasper, and Silas LaFavor.

A visitation will be held at 9 am on Saturday, July 13, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 5250 Mission Rd., Roeland Park, KS, with a Funeral Mass at 10 am. A lunch will be held following Mass in the Parish Center for those willing to attend. There will be a private family burial.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bishop Ward High School.
