Sandra “Gail” Stott Bradley, 87, of Lenexa, Ks died July 3rd at 9:34 p.m. at Trustwell Living. She lost the battle with the horrible disease of Alzheimer's after a courageous seven-year fight. Gail was born April 23rd, 1937, in Kansas City, Kansas where she grew up and lived until 1985. She graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1955. She married James “Jim” Bradley in 1956 and raised her family in the same community only a mile from where she grew up. In the early years she was an active member at First Presbyterian Church, active in Camp Fire Girls, Boy Scouts and PTA at William Allen White Elementary, West Junior High School and F.L Schlagle High School during her children's school years. As her children grew, Gail began working outside the home. She worked in K.C.K. for Dr’s Floersch, Bolton and Johanian for several years during the 1970’s and early 80’s. In 1982 she went to work for the law firm of Weeks, Thomas and Lysaught in K.C.K. During those years she and her family moved to Lenexa and in1986, when that firm closed their doors, she was asked to join the Lenexa office of McAnany, Van Cleave and Phillips Law Firm where she would remain until she retired in 1996. While in Lenexa she was an upstanding member of Salem Lutheran Church in old town Lenexa where she served on the Church Council as Evangelism Chairman and Vice President, was active in the Senior Citizens group and had served on the Altar Guild since her and her granddaughters joined the church in 1995. She is preceded in death by her loving parents Milo and Mildred Peat Stott and two of the saddest losses of her life, her sister Jan Clair Stott Baumgart who was born on April 23rd and died on July 3rd just like Gail. Gails youngest daughter, Kenda Sue Bradley (husband Michael Adams) who died April 2nd of 2020. Gail is survived by her wonderful husband of 68 years, James Harold Bradley of the home and her two other children, daughter Kristen Lynn Bradley (wife Cindy Richards Bradley) of Mission, Ks. and her son Kyle Reed Bradley (wife Cynthia Bennett Bradley) of Raytown, Mo. ‘GG’s life was full to the brim with her involvement with her surviving granddaughters that she loved so very much. Nici Carson Whitlock (husband Ira Whitlock), Tiffany Bradley Erwin (husband Allan Erwin), Halli Bradley-Shomin Bussell (husband Michael Bussell, decd.) and Kelly Bradley. Also ‘GG’ is survived by 13 Great Grandchildren who absolutely adored her. Madison, Evelyn and Emma Brownlee, Justice and Jacob Whitlock, Issac Bradley, Lynn, Isabella and Joanna Erwin, Lane and Lily Bradley and Milo and Huxley Bussell. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at both Trustwell Living and Monarch Hospice for their loving assistance in caring for Gail.
Visitation will be from 10:30-11:00 AM followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 11, 2024 at the Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia Street, Lenexa, KS. We would also ask that in lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer's Research Center, Bright Focus Foundation be made at Donate to Alzheimer's Disease Research (brightfocus.org)
