Angeline D. (Rosewicz) Kasick

September 6, 1930-June 30, 2024

Proud to have lived to be 93-years-old, Angeline “Angie” (Rosewicz) Kasick transitioned peacefully to everlasting life on Sunday, June 30. She died at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas.

Angie was born on September 6, 1930 and remained a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Kansas. She cherished her Polish heritage and had fond memories of specialty foods prepared by her mother.

While Angie considered her twin sister Adeline the more outgoing of the two, she was a willing participant in many shared adventures. In their mid-20s, the twins took flying lessons, earned their licenses, purchased a small propeller plane, and took to the skies. They also enjoyed travel by commercial airlines, particularly a 30-day trip abroad. They visited many cities and sites in Europe and flirted with the local men.

 In their young adult years, Angie and Adeline had a booth at the Plaza Art Fair where they displayed their artistic talents. Angie had honed her skills taking courses at the Kansas City Art Institute. Her home is a personal gallery showcasing her creativity in many paintings of different media.

 With her husband Richard Kasick, Angie oversaw construction and completed the finishing of their beautiful home in the Piper area. Richard greeted Angie with a prepared cocktail to welcome her home from her job each evening.

 Angie worked 41 years as a secretary for UMB Bank in the Kansas City, Missouri office. A woman of short stature, she told the story of dancing the polka with the very tall R. Crosby Kemper, Jr., bank president, at company gatherings. Angie left UMB as computers were becoming more commonplace. On the kitchen desk in her home, she maintained an electric typewriter that she used to record information. She was extremely organized with her paperwork, accounts of her travels, and with life in general.

A woman of faith, Angie was a member of Holy Angels Parish, Basehor, Kansas. She attended Mass and prayed the rosary regularly and had a crucifix on the wall in almost every room of her home.

Angie was pre-deceased by her husband, her parents and her sister. She leaves behind three goddaughters and a circle of friends who enjoyed and appreciated her wit, her wisdom, her zest for life, and her stories, many of which were recollections of a life well-lived.

 A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 5, at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, 1150 N. 38th St., Kansas City, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, Angie requested donations for Masses at Holy Angels Parish, Basehor, Kansas.
