Debbie, Chuck, Mark, Susan & Eric, It is so hard to lose our loved ones. So many emotions and dealing with their loss. Grief becomes almost unbearable, just remember all the fun times and beautiful moments shared between you. Kelly would not want any of you to hurt, he would want you to celebrate his past and celebrate the happiness he is having now sitting with our Creator. Sending my love to you all. Be well, if there is anything I could do just let me know. Just a phone call away. Love, Crystal

Kelly Bishop was a light in my life. I met Kelly when I was a high-school kid selling shoes in Arlington, Texas. Kelly was hired as the Assistant Manager. We were friends for more than 40 years. Kelly was easy-going, generous to a fault and somehow able to just let the world roll right off his back. He was always upbeat and positive. I never knew him to be upset or angry and I can't recall him saying a negative word about anyone. His solid character and Christian moral centeredness set a powerful example that I didn't always appreciate as much as I should have in our younger days. Kelly was never swayed by popular opinion; he did what was right, whether it was popular or not. Looking back, I recognize what a positive influence Kelly grew to be in my life. Kelly was able to maintain a childlike fascination with the world. He had no pretensions. Everything and everybody meant something to him. He was always volunteering to help people in some way. He was always excited about his latest project or venture, no matter how big or small. His enthusiasm was contagious and relentless. Our most common passion was a shared interest in watersports and boating. I'll always be thankful to Kelly for introducing me to one of my favorite places in the world, the headwaters of Lake Whitney on the Brazos River. After that, and for many years, he and I and our group of River Rat devotees met often in the pre-dawn hours to jump in his Glastron-Carlson and "break glass" on that breathtaking stretch of water. Those times are some of the best of my life. As I've grown older, I understand more clearly just how rare people like Kelly are. This world is a much sadder place for having lost him. I uploaded one of my favorite pictures of Kelly on the Brazos. He had the most gonzo wide-stance barefoot styles I've ever seen. Wild, fast and free. This is how I'll always remember him. So, goodbye my friend. I know you are soaring through heaven free from pain. Until we meet again.
