John David Stroud, 54, of Lenexa Kansas passed Tuesday May 14th at home, quietly listening to his wife talk about some of their favorite adventures together. Though John lost his battle with Brain Cancer, he won the War of Life and leaves behind a beautiful legacy.
John was born on October 30, 1969, in Coffeyville Kansas. He lived most of his life in the Kansas City area where he completed his bachelor’s degree at Baker University. After only a few positions with various companies, John decided on a career in Insurance. John went on to build an insurance brokerage that his family still runs today. He settled in Lenexa Kansas with his wife where they lived for more than 20 years.
John made adventures and travel with his friends and family a priority. He took countless trips to various places in the World in his short life. He passed his love of travel, food, and fishing on to his two teenage sons.
John is survived by his parents Bob and Vickie Voelzke, his two sisters Michelle and Kerri, his wife of almost 20 years Jessica, and his two sons Owen and Luke.
John’s Memorial Service will be held at Porter Funeral Home in Lenexa on Wednesday May 29th at 10 a.m.
