Janis M Letsch was born in Dorrance Ks. to Guy and Florence Stevenson passed away peacefully on May 5, 2024. She grew up in Codell Ks as the middle child of three, an older sister Patricia and a younger brother Jerry. She attended Ft. Hayes State where she played basketball. She met and fell in love with her husband Howard Letsch and married in 1950. After farming for several years Howard joined the Air Force they lived in Fairbanks Alaska where they had their first child Douglas. Upon leaving the service they moved to Lawrence for college and had a daughter Robin. They then settled in Kansas City. She worked as a homemaker and mother. She worked for 9 years at the Sun newspaper to make money to help her children through college. She enjoyed 58 years with Howard before his death in 2008. She lived the rest of her time for her two children, four grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and her beloved dog Finley.
We are having a interment of ashes at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery on Saturday May 18th at 12:00 with a reception at her home following the interment.
