Jan 14, 1987---May 09, 2024

Ashley Marie (Ogden) Holloway, 37, of Kansas City, MO passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024.  She was born in Wiesbaden, Germany, January 14, 1987.  Daughter of an Army veteran, she lived in the United States and Germany at various times during her formative years.  The last 20 years she made her home in Kansas City, MO near her immediate family, friends and relatives.

Ashley graduated from high school in Bad Aibling, Germany.  She attended the University of Colorado and completed her Bachelors of Science in Accounting through the University of Phoenix. Ashley graduated Cum Laude from the University of Phoenix. Prior to completing her bachelor’s degree, she worked as a Preschool Teacher at Corporate Kids in Gladstone, MO. Post graduation she worked at Nissan Automotive as well as Americo Services, Inc.  Her position at the time of her death was Accountant/Human Resource Representative at Smart Trafficway Co., Inc., Kansas City, MO.

Ashley was known as ‘fearless’ by her family and the life of any gathering. She fully enjoyed what life had to offer and her brilliant smile lit up every room she entered.  Always the center of attention and wanting to be ‘the best’ she was dedicated to pursuing “the good life.”  This meant a life full of good food, good music, dancing with her daughter, traveling to beautiful places such as Poland, France, Italy, Switzerland, Amsterdam, England and Austria, and capturing her experiences with “the perfect photo”. The absence of her presence and brilliant smile will leave a dark void in her children’s lives and future family gatherings.

Ashley’s children were the center of her world. She took every opportunity to instill a sense of joy and laughter into their lives. Ashley would take Brayden to play pool almost every Saturday just to spend time with him; and regardless of who won or lost, they both laughed “with” and “at” each other. Ashley also attended Brayden’s football games and track meets demonstrating to her son the support and pride she had in his accomplishments. When Ashley would talk about Haley, you couldn’t miss the sparkle she had in the corner of her eye. She referred to Haley as her “mini me”.  Ashley and Haley enjoyed going to a friend’s house to ride the horses and swim.  They also enjoyed hiking, crafting together, planting and tending to their vegetable and flower gardens, and relaxing in the hot tub.  The two would play together for hours. Ashley and her two children had family nights that consisted of singing, watching TV, playing board and card games or playing with the filters on their cell phones making silly short videos. There was never a shortage of laughter.

Ashley worked tirelessly to support her family. As an Accountant and Human Resource Representative there were particularly stressful days and seasons. It was after one of these stressful days that she experienced a medical event that ultimately led to her passing.  Though she was determined to recover Ashley passed away on May 9th, 2024 surrounded by her parents, sister, and aunt, Karin Roberts.

Ashley was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Frances G. Planck and maternal grandparents Mary J. (Curtis) Robertson and Herman L. Robertson. She is survived by her parents, Armin Kevin and Marilee D. Ogden; her two children, Haley and Brayden Holloway; sister, Amber (Ogden) Ballard, Amber’s husband, Brad and their two children, Trinity and Temperance Ballard; paternal grandfather Armin Kenneth Ogden and many extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, June 23, 2024 where Ashley’s beautiful life will be celebrated. The place and time of this celebration will be provided at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the K9s for Warriors (K9s for Warriors), American Cancer Society (American Cancer Society) or Kansas City Union Mission (City Union Mission .

Kind words and remembrances for the family are welcome at the Porter Funeral Home website.

I am so very sorry for your loss, dear family members. Ashley was one of the brightest shining and intelligent people I knew at Bad Aibling High School! She was one of the four of the last graduating class at Bad Aibling American High School! She was the Valedictorian, I was Salutatorian.
