With sadness, we announce the passing of Shirley Ann Spielhagen on April 22, 2024.  Shirley will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 65 years Dirk Spielhagen, daughter Cynthia, daughter Claire and husband John Hudak, son Paul Spielhagen and Debbie, 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by son David Spielhagen.  A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on June 8, 2024 at Shawnee Bible Church followed by interment at Old Monticello Cemetery.  Born April 11, 1936 Shirley grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. After marrying she and Dirk built a home on 4 acres west of Shawnee and raised 4 children.  She loved watching the deer, turkeys and other wildlife that happened by. With family Shirley enjoyed going to the lake, boating and swimming.  Shirley and Dirk started a successful business together in Olathe and ran it until retirement. Shirley loved her Lord and Savior, and was an active member of the Shawnee Bible Church family for many years.  She was committed to her faith and believed in serving others. Shirley worked in the Awana children’s ministry for 21 years and enjoyed helping in the nursery as well.
