Henry Infante died peacefully surround by family on his 93rd birthday, April 7, 2024. His celebration of life began with traditional Mexican music and loving family, and then was called to continue the “Divine Dance” with his most loving wife Lupita Gil de Infante and Heavenly Father in his eternal home. The rosary and visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, April 12 at Curé of Ars Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. followed by a luncheon. The burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 83rd & Quivira. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Curé of Ars Catholic Church or the Hispanic Development Fund.
Henry was born April 7, 1931, in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from Manuel High School and Kansas University with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. In 1966, he married his loving wife Lupita with whom he proudly raised three children. He was a model big brother and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Scouting provided mentors who influenced his desire to becoming a leader as an Eagle Scout and in the local Hispanic community as well as pursue architecture at KU. His professional career reflected his servant heart for creating communities of faithful believers to unite in heart and soul as he worked on several community center and church projects, especially in the Westside. He also shared his witness of faith, good work ethic, and pride in Hispanic heritage and appreciation for cultural diversity to all his grandchildren and as a member of various communities such as KC Mayors’ Prayer Breakfast, Ethnic Enrichment Festival, among many other KC Hispanic organizations. His fun, friendly spirit and love for music, dancing, and simple humor provided family with laughter and smiles.
He is survived by his daughter, Anette, and husband Kevin Growney; son Alejandro, and wife Susan Infante; and daughter Cecilia and husband Jeff. His legacy will live on in his treasured grandchildren Andrew and Grace Growney (great grandsons Henry and Elijah) and AnnMarie Growney; Isabella, Alejandra, and Olivia Infante; Jake, Josh, and Joselito Bethel. He is also survived by siblings Suzanne, Dolores, and Michael.
