Loving mother, grandmother, and friend.

Katherine Elizabeth Thomas, age 64, of Kansas City, passed away after short illness on March 22, 2024, at home. She was born on June 15, 1959, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Douglas and Ruth Miller. She graduated from Washington High School and Kansas City Kansas Community College, with a degree in nursing. She raised and nurtured five children and was blessed with 10 grandchildren (along with her grand-dog and grand-kitties).

Katherine was a devoted mother, grandmother, nurse, and caregiver. She brought smiles to everyone’s face with her never-ending stream of thoughtful, and often fun gifts. She was a passionate sports fan, whether her own children, grandchildren, or local teams. Spending time with her family was her greatest delight. She was a very loving and generous person, who always put others before herself.

Katherine is survived by her mother Ruth Miller of Kansas City, Kansas; her children, Jacob White (Amy) of Flower Mound, Texas, Joshua White (Angel) of Omaha, Nebraska, Amanda Trewett (Joseph) of Rogers, Arkansas, Justin Thomas (Perry) of Lawrence, Kansas, and Ashley Thomas of Kansas City , Kansas; her grandchildren, Paige White, Peyton White, Grace White, Lilia White, Lucy White, Lily Baird, Lela Trewett, RoseTrewett, Emery Thomas and Hazel Trewett; her brothers Russell Miller and Douglas Miller (Sharon); and her nieces, Stephanie Miller, Carley Miller and Emily Miller along with many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Miller. 

A funeral and celebration of her life will be held on March 28th, with visitation starting at 10 a.m. and service following at 11a.m., at Wyandotte United Methodist Church, 7901 Oakland Avenue, Kansas City, Kansas. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery.

Katherine will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
