Rita C. Kopp of Leawood KS passed away on March 15th, 2024, at the age of 76. She was born on November 30th, 1947 in Kansas City, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Regina Steinbacher, her sister, Janet and her infant grandson, Ryan.
Rita married Terry Kopp on June 6th, 1970, at St Francis Xavier Church. She is survived by her husband Terry: four sons Anthony, Jeffrey (Lisa), Gregory and Sean; three daughters: Katherine (Mike) Courtney and Shelly (Josh). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Sarah, Connor, Kaden, Lauren, Paige, Brian. Scarlett, Kyle, Allie and Clark. She is also survived by one sister, Margaret Hare (Pat) and many nieces and nephews. She loved to read and to garden and most of all being “Nanny” to her grandchildren. She enjoyed going to lunch with her Hogan Alumni from the class of 65. She was a Mom to 7, Nanny to 10, foster care parent and child care provider to many. We celebrate her life the same day we celebrate National Down Syndrome Day with her youngest son Sean.

Services will be on Thursday, March 21, at Cure of Ars, 9405 Mission Rd. Leawood, KS. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. The Rosary will be prayed at 12:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Mass at 12:30 p.m. Cremation. Private Burial at Mt Olivet Cemetery. So Long Teapot.
