Violet J. Laing, a woman of resilience and grace, departed this world on February 26, 2024, peacefully at her home. She was born on March 29, 1931, in North Branch, WI, to her loving parents, Dr. Stanley and Thelma Laing. Violet was surrounded by the warmth of family as she transitioned to eternal rest.
Violet was preceded in death by her dear siblings, Thelma J. Casper, George Laing D.D.S., Darlene Bishop, and Ray Laing. She leaves behind a legacy of dedication and commitment to both her family and her friends.
Violet was the Vice President of Security Bank where she was impressively employed for 51 years.
A faithful member of White Church in Kansas City, KS, Violet found solace and strength in her spiritual community. Her connection to the church reflected her deep-rooted values and provided a source of inspiration for those fortunate enough to know her.
Violet will be deeply missed by her extensive family and friends, including numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews. Her impact on their lives is immeasurable, and her memory will forever be cherished.

Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. with the Funeral Services following at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, at the Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave. Kansas City, KS. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Kansas City, KS.
