Derrick Lee Simmons, 64, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024.  Graveside Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, February 22, at the Maywood Cemetery, Kansas City, KS.

     Derrick was born October 5, 1959, in Kansas City, MO.  He graduated from Schlagle High School and was a member of the National Honor Society.  Derrick received his Bachelor's from Missouri Valley College and Master's Degree from Avila University. He was a manager in the Bulk Mail Department for the United States Postal Service.  He enjoyed music and played many instruments. Derrick loved his pets including his dogs and kitty cats.  He was preceded in death by his father Lee Simmons and his brother Kevin Simmons.  Derrick is survived by his mother Diane Simmons and niece Aly Simmons.
