A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 9th at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 11300 West 103rd Street, Overland Park, KS 66214. Visitation will precede the Mass from 10:00 - 10:30 am.
Sally will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery next to her loving husband of 60 years, Robert (“Bob”) M. Clark, who preceded her to heaven in 2013.
Sally was born on October 15, 1931 in Rome, NY, the daughter of Joseph and Agnes Boulant. Sally was the oldest of three sisters: Mary Guertin of Andover, MA and Susie McMaster of Greenville, SC. Sally graduated from Saint Aloysius Academy in Rome and worked at Oneida National Bank with her sister, Mary as a teller upon graduation. They were often seen walking to and from the bank and were lovingly referred to as “The Dolly Sisters”. Sally and Bob were married in 1953 and remained in Rome through the birth of their four children, Bob, Jody, Mike and Sherry. She was a loving and involved mother supporting all of her children’s various games and activities.
In 1970, just in time for the Chief’s first Super Bowl, the family relocated to their home for the next 47 years in Overland Park, KS. Sally loved her many years living the good life with her close friends in the Wycliff neighborhood. Sally was a member of Brookridge Country Club where she was an avid golfer. Sally enjoyed playing bridge with her partner of many years, Ruth Lohr. Sally also enjoyed cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, as well as the Kansas Jayhawks where her children went to school.
Sally is survived by her four children Robert Clark Jr (Betty), Jody Ong (Richard), Michael Clark (Connie) and Sherry McNary (David) as well as five grandchildren Lindsey Meehan (Patrick), Nicholas Ong (Rachel), Molly Herron (William), Ryan McNary (Annie) and Regan McNary and twelve great grandchildren: Luke, Hunter and Addison Meehan, Easton, Lucy, Coleman and Theo Ong, Ellie and Jack Herron and Isabella, Jacqueline and William McNary.
Sally fiercely loved her family and her faith and was a wonderful mother and beloved grandmother. For many years Sally attended daily mass at Holy Cross Catholic Church and enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s games and activities before spending her last 6 years under the loving care of the Santa Marta Retirement Community.
Many thanks to the nurses and staff at Santa Marta Retirement Community as well as the hospice workers at Catholic Community Health. In lieu of flowers, donation in memory of Sally can be made to Catholic Community Health, 16201 W. 95th Street Lenexa, KS 66219.
